# Your data, privacy and deleting your account

> Who owns your chats and contacts, how long chats are kept, and how to export or delete everything.

Your chats, contacts and files belong to your business.

## What we do and don't do

- Your data is **never used to train AI models**.
- Your WhatsApp and payment keys are encrypted at rest.
- Each business's data is kept apart from every other business's.

## How long chats are kept

In **Settings → Privacy**, the owner chooses to keep chats forever, or for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. Older messages and voice notes are then deleted automatically every day.

## Delete a contact

Deleting a contact deletes their chat and voice notes too.

## Delete your account

Open **Settings → Account → Delete account**. You see exactly what will be deleted first. We email you a confirmation link. Businesses you own alone are deleted with everything in them; in businesses you share with another owner, you only leave. ## AI apps you connected

If you connected Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app to your account, **Settings → Account → Connected apps** lists them, shows what they changed, and removes them instantly.
